The Timex x Worn & Wound WW75 returns for a third year. As with the last two sold out versions, the watch is based on a case from the 70s that had previously only been used with quartz movements, now fit with a hand-wound mechanical caliber. For this year, the inspiration was the end of summer as seen in two distinctive colorways: Sunflower and Sunset.
For the Timex x Worn & Wound WW75 V3 we used the same 37mm x 43mm case. It’s 12.7mm tall, including a domed acrylic crystal, and has 20mm lugs. It wears beautifully and is sized to fit a wide variety of wrists. The dials feature a combination of colors and textures in a concentric array. At center is a region with a waffle texture, encircled by a ring in a contrasting color for a vibrant pop. Applied indices cross from one to the other, creating a visual flow, and adding an element of classic elegance. A rotating set of numerals for the minutes/seconds brings it back to the casual.
Sunflower combines sandy yellow tones with rusty orange and dark teal to evoke the late summer blooming flower. Combined with a grass green mil-strap, the desaturated tones are both natural and stylish. Sunset evokes the deep magentas seen as the sun descends across the horizon. A deep magenta dial is offset by brighter blues and flecks of pink. A striped blue and teal nylon mil-strap adds contrast an a slightly sporty attitude.
Inside are Sea-Gull TY6 manual wound movements with 20-jewels, providing a smooth sweeping seconds hand, and a chance for daily interaction with your watch.
